Mr. Rajeev Kohli
Biography
Lt. Col. Rajeev Kohli (Retd), was commissioned into the Indian Army Corps of Signals in 1970 and took premature retirement in 1991. He holds a B.E. from the Military College of Telecommunication Engineering and an M.Tech from IIT Madras in Digital Image Processing and is a Fellow of the Institution of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). He has served as faculty at the Military College of Telecommunication and various units in the Corps of Signals, including Signals Intelligence and AREN Units. He has been felicitated by Dr. Raja Ramanna for outstanding contribution towards the Army Radio Engineered Network (AREN) Project, and has been awarded the Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation. His last tenure prior to retirement was as Commanding Officer of an AREN unit in Chandigarh. He has taken active part in the 1971 Indo-Pak war in the western theatre.
Subsequent to leaving the Army, he was been involved in the development of software for telecom applications such as setting up of software test bed for military grade voice/data switches and embedded systems. Other areas of work have included Internet technologies, Multimedia, RDBMS, usage based telecom billing systems, voice & data networks, multi-system and multi-platform integration.
He has been the Vice President (Technical) and Chief Technology Officer of Zee Telefilms Access Group and was responsible for the rollout of the ZEE broadband network over optical fibre and co-axial cable, and planning for their DTH system.
He is currently mentoring a startup in the area of IOT products.
Happily married to Rashme, he has a son who runs his own Background verification business, Daughter in Law and Grandson, and a daughter who is a Senior Designer for home furnishing.
